I'm sure you have heard the news that Evolution Gaming has now bought Nolimit, what do you think about this?

Funny enough, I have a friend there and a couple of years back he said "we would rather go bankrupt than sell to them" but how the tables have turned.

Another short story of how bad "Evolution" is! When they acquired Netent, they said "everything will remain the same". Then one day they had been walking around the live casino floor of Netent and the staff "asked sorry who are you and do you need help" they were ignored... then a meeting was called.

The Evolution bosses stopped everything called the staff in and told them "Your services are no longer needed and effective immediately the live casino department has been shut down".

The staff were crying, they had  contracts so this was somewhat illegal, no notice, nothing! This is where it gets worse, Evolution then called security to escort them all out whilst drinking champagne and eating pizza, allowing the ex-employees to see this and patting each other on the back.... 3 weeks before Christmas!

Darn. I didn't realise the industry was so brutal.

I would akin this to Disney buying Marvel - if Marvel had said 'no', remained their own entity and continued to churn out the quality films they did. They'd be the biggest independent studio going. Instead they are part of a corporation that doesn't care about core values.

Money makes everyone jump. The originality and core value at NoLimit will disappear. I expect and their brand will be basterdised. Look out for the new live 'Prison breakout' game based on San Quentin and Folsom series.

I gave up watching Marvel after Endgame.....and that's after years of me going to the cinema to watch the films. Only thing superhero on that side that I watch is the Spiderman films because they are Sony (although Marvel produced). Disney went down the pan with all their films about 5 years ago. They ruined Star Wars, ruined Pixar, Marvel is now trash and their own animated films (which used to be really good) are now all politicalised and not made to just entertain you. Tangled was the last great animated film they made. The live adaptions of their works started strong and now.....just gash.

Maybe Evolution are the Disney of the gambling world.

I agree that this purchase of NoLimit is probably not going to be a good thing at all.

There has to be diversity and if one larger group are buying all the other “smaller” providers, there will be no originality in the games. That will drive people away.

i will say one thing, I do think NoLimit needed a change. The last 3/4 releases have felt tired and almost a reskin of the previous ones - but the change of being bought out by Evolution is not the one I would have picked!

In any industry where one large company buys up the others it all goes to shit and that's whether its the film industry or video game industry or whatever it is in the long run its never good.
