Let me first preface this by saying that I quite liked conquestador, their layout was great, game selection great and welcome offer excellent, however I got an email advising me I would get 10 free spins on starburst with my next 20 quid deposit. I usually have a spin on Friday night so thought I’d just do it here.
£20 deposited and I lost it on gates of Olympus so decided I’d use the free spins before logging out. The free spins returned £3.20 and carried wagering of 20x so £64. Checked games and lightning roulette was an allowable wagering game so thought I’d try a few numbers and it worked out here and there with me leaving roulette with a balance of about £25 quid... the wager however hadn’t budged and when I checked I had done £144 worth of spins!
I loaded up Legend of Cleopatra Megaways to see if this would count towards wagering before contacting live support and hit a 200x bonus on the 2nd 40p spin so my balance was near £85 now and I thought I would have a small profit withdrawal as I had more than wagering balance....but wagering hadn’t started still. I contacted live support who told me wagering wasn’t happening because I only had bonus funds...weird I thought as I have never heard this at any other site but regardless I deposited 25 quid to do wagering thinking this should be easy as I now had a balance of £110ish following the 2nd deposit..the wagering was not completed and the balance went to nil, each spin took a minuscule fraction off the wagering but here’s what I actually spun after I won the £3.20
£144 on lightning roulette
£36.40 on legend of cleopatra megaways
£36 on shimmering woods
£41.50 on Aztec Gold:Extra Gold
£30 on Hells Kitchen
£51 on Razor Shark
£32.40 on Wild Blood 2
£10.40 on Chaos Crew
£15.60 on Golden Leprechaun Megaways
A further £10.60 on Lightning Roulette
8p on Book of Dead to nil the balance
So that’s a grand total of £407.90 gambled or 127.47x the bonus from free spins and wagering was not beaten....All spins were between 40p - 60p but it’s safe to say that whilst I like their site I don’t think I’ll be taking any more bonuses as I just don’t understand how I’m meant to beat that wager....
Just a heads up to any other members to watch out for this too as although the house always wins it really felt the odds were stacked against me on this one
Good luck on the slots this weekend ladies and gents

I'm trying to get my head around this one as it seems you read the T&C's and knew what you were doing. Any normal win from spins would be bonus money which in turn would begin the wagering process as long as you played games that wagering was allowed on. You should not have had to deposit any cash to aid with the wagering. What exactly did support say to you?

I think you may have to activate the bonus before you deposit.

No, I had activated it already to get the free spins when depositing then there was nothing else to activate. Live chat said I had to wager real money in line with bonus funds so I had to deposit to begin wagering the bonus funds, which I found strange as I had already deposited to unlock the spins

Sorry I may not have been clear.
I think you are required to activate the bonus, then deposit, then play the free spins so that it takes effect. If you do not do it in this order it may not work.
Maybe the casino rep would be best to pop round here and explain it.
I do agree that that Conquestador bonuses are problematic and not always easy to follow.

Ah so you mean play the free spins before I actually play my own money? Just seems. Strange that you can bet the bonus and none of it counts towards wager at all then the wager goes down at a snails pace, I thought a final sum of £407 wagered and the bonus still not wagered for a £3.20 win was ridiculous though

The free spin wagering will only come into effect when you have played the free spins and you have achieved winnings from them, in your case you had £3.20 to wager x20 (£64 of wagering). From personal experience you would begin wagering as soon as you start to use the £3.20 provided its used on games that count towards the wagering.

Yes, I think so although it would be best if a casino rep confirmed this. I think that without playing the free spins first the amount is not added to the bonus funds and cannot progress wagering beforehand.

From how I've read it, he used his own money then used his free spins before he logged out (same as I do) and then went to roulette and basically span up the balance from £3.20. so with the information he has given it sounds like something has gone wrong. Surely anything he wagered with that £3.20 should count towards wagering. Also I feel like it has to be against responsible gambling to entice players to deposit real money to clear wagering? Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't sit well with me if this is the case.

Are you allowed to use table games with a slots bonus on Conquestador?

Yeah

Isnt it usually max stake £5 when in bonus, even when playing roulette anyway?

I believe so

So I contacted live support who advised firstly that I cancelled the bonus, then back tracked to say I hadn’t. They then said I cleared the wager but back tracked again and said the bonus was nulled as my balance went to nil.
You can indeed only clear wagering on Conquestador when you have a real money balance and this balance is played proportionately so if your cash is less than the bonus then it counts as less towards wagering because you don’t wager with bonus funds at all. furthermore your max bet is 20% of the bonus so in my case 64p but I didn’t go over this anyway with my max bet being 60p.
I also queried how this promoted responsible gambling @Jimboscooker a couple of times if they are asking people to redeposit to clear a bonus they obtained by depositing but was told you had to do it if you wanted to clear wagering and the responsibility issue wasn’t really addressed.
They have gone down a lot in my ratings following the conversation so I’ll probably be giving them a miss and using the other accounts I’ve opened via Gamblers Den
Cheers Lads, Happy Easter

Irrespective of the bonus mechanic and whether you adhered to it or not it is clear that the casino ought to have handled this better. Casinos have to work really hard to acquire players and treating a new player like this (and ultimately losing them) is just idiotic on their part.
There are lots of other casinos and I am sure we all understand why you would no longer wish to play at this casino.
